Please I need your help and suggestions. I recently reinstalled my XP (the previous XP crashed) and ever since I haven't been able to install another program on it (Adobe Acrobat, Office 2003, just name it). I kept receiving error 1335 message (.cab files either being corrupt or that there is a network error). I have sought help on how to rectify it, all to no avail - all suggestions never worked on my system. I have even cleaned my CD-ROM drives, still nothing worked.

Now I have decided to reinstall the operating system again XP SP2. Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to go about it? DO I just over-write the previous one or should I opt to reformat the hard drive and how? I need to do something or I will bring the system in the open and smash it with a sledge hammer.

Thanks!

Frustrated Chivy30.

YOu can have the installation delete the windows folder, (but keep all your files).

How can I do this? I just hope that re-installing the operating system will get me out of this doldrum

Or else see "Perform a clean install of Windows XP (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316941)" if you eventually give up on that attempt.

Rather why don't you format just "C" Drive and reload the OS completely !!
