If I only have 11% space on one 3 gig harddrive and only 13%space on a second 3 gig harddrive does that mean it's time for another harddrive? And if I put a clean formatted hard drive behind my cd rom under win xp will it recognize with no problem?

You might try CCleaner to clean up space used by temporary files first.

Yes you are right, it is time for a new drive. Please let use know about your system and what operating system you plan on using. We can help you set up Master and Slave, Xp will pick it up if it shows up in bios.
