I have this one .dll file, and I can not get rid of it. Deleating it, renaming it... do not work.

So how can I get rid of it from my system?

Oh yeah, I run on XP Pro SP 2

You'll probably get another post like mine before I hit send. The reappearing dll file is probably just a symptom of a bigger problem. Do you run AV and firewall software? I'll wager a HJT log is in order as well as an online virus scan.

What Pangea33 is advising is that when malware hooks into your PC, a common symptom is ".dll missing" errors because of the way the the malicious software is written.

AV is AntiVirus.

Here are a couple links to good, safe, and generally respected online virus scanners. They use an active-x component, so you'll need to briefly revisit IE if you've already made the switch to Firefox. They will prompt you to download and install a small component, and will then provide you with a thorough and free virus scan.

HJT is HijackThis. It is a very small, but extremely useful, tool for analyzing modifications to your system. It's been paramount in solving the problems of many users in this forum. It will generate a log file that won't make much sense the first time you see it. Posting the log here will result in one of the experts helping you troubleshoot any problems. At least they've never refused anyone to my knowledge. :D

Many people are also requested to run a scan with Ewido Security Suite. ClassicSoftware has a well assembled, standard list of tasks he usually posts for people with problems. You can download the app now, and one of the senior problem solvers is likely to offer you further assistance.
