Hey what's up. I was wondering if there was a program needed to hook up and play my xbox with my computer. I have the a/v input and output on my Vaio, and I know I can watch tv with my computer by using Giga Pocket after I hook up my cable wire directly to the back of my computer. I want to play Xbox on my computer so I can play online with it, without splitting the ethernet cables up into different rooms. Thanks.

My brother and I plug the xbox directly into the router and you can play online that way, i`m unsure about software.

I've got a Vaio, so I know about the a/v connector you mentioned. It looks like a mini headphone jack, but there are 4 contacts on the plug. A grounded tip, and 3 zones on the side for the positive connection to both audio channels, as well as composite video. Unfortunately, it is a/v output only and you can't feed a signal into it.

If you want to stick with the plan of using your computer for audio and video, your best bet is probably one of those devices that will take the inputs via usb. I know I saw one on NewEgg from some other thread here, and it seems to me that it was only about $20. I'll try and hunt down a link.

Hey, theweedude. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, and I think I gave you a little false hope too. I've been doing some searching, and it looks like either a USB video capture device, or a tv-to-vga adapter is what's required. The price range looks to be from $60 to upwards of $150. The cheap ones don't appear to have very good reviews either. For that kind of money, you might be better off just buying a cheap 19" tv set. Here's a link to the type of converter that would work if you're curious. http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=3103&sku=40227
