I dont think this was posted anywhere but i usually leave my computer on. I keep it on for a long time and turn it off here and there. Now, I have to turn my computer off after everytime i use it. The monitor will flash red, white, blue, and green after it has been on for a while. I have a custom build PC and it is a new video card. When this was happening, i hooked a different monitor into the slot in the back and on the screen was the same thing. Is what im doing too advanced for the video card?
Thanks
Make sure the video card is fully seated, its fan is running, its heatsink is securely mounted, and clean any dust off its fan and heatsink.
If no luck, then clean off its contacts with alcohol.
If still no luck and it's a PCI card, then try it in a different slot.
If no good or it's an AGP card, then the video card or its slot may be bad.
But if it's a video adapter built into the MB, then you can disable it, and install a new video card.

Your problem sounds like the video card is going to sleep, and the monitor is showing its "no signal" found test screen. This seems especially true if you've experienced it with two monitors. Does it happen when you're in the middle of using your PC, or only when you've walked away for a while?
I suggest you go into the hardware device management and select properties for the video card. Uncheck the box that says something like "let windows turn of power to this device to conserve energy." If the monitor is energy star compliant it can turn itself off, and I think your problem will be remedied.
