View Full Version : CD audio gittery ???

I've just changed over to XP Pro and i can't seem to play cd's on the rom driver the tracks play but they are jittery almost sounding like running out of ram at times but i think not the system is a 1100mhz with 650 m ram ,it play audio from the hard drive fine, i tryed down loading media player 10 no luck any clues ? Quiet frankly its giving me the ****s and i got no idea. Any help would be great thanx.

Set media player to use digital playback.

Are you using onboard sound, or a separate sound card? Does your soundcard have one of those 4-pin aux input plugs, to match up with the 4-pin output on the back of your cd drive? This made a difference for me, because some processing demand was taken off the cpu. If you use this method, you would not want to select digital playback, as mentioned above.
