can anyone explain wat is Coppermine & Katmai pentium cpu ?
i am going to buy a new motherboard & pentium cpu
do i have to take note of this classes of pentium cpu ?
can a motherboard which supports Coppermine/Katmai PII/III ,
also supports the normal type of PII/III cpu ?

There are a few differences, but the ones you need to be interested in are:
Coppermine - faster due to smaller die size and cache running at full processor speed. It needs different core voltages I think, which may require you to change motherboards if yours doesn't support those voltages. Most motherboard manufacturers have a CPU compatibility chart on their website for their boards.
There also may be some difference in Slot1 vs. Slot2...
