I recently hooked this up to my HDTV set thru the component video cables (Blue, Red Green) and I get a grayscale screen when windows boots (No Color). I get color in the Windows XP Loading screen as well as the BIOS splash screen. I used the S-Video cable and it looks fine. The VGA works fine as well.
XFX Tech support asked me to reseat the card and try a different TV with Component and it still did not work. I did not initally see any pins bent where the adapter plugs into the card. I have the latest drivers (81.95).
So, if I get color during boot up with the component video cables, does that rule out a hardware problem? Also, the issue is with componet only in windows. The S-Video & DVI/VGA have no issues.

Either that or the settings in Windows for Component-Out aren't set correctly. TV-Out options are touchy because TV's have no I/O standard. PC monitors are at least capable of communicating with the system and reporting the modes in which the monitor can operate. But TV's have no such standard.
Try looking in the settings again, just to make sure. The fact that the BIOS works but Windows doesn't suggests this is the problem.

well, I did try 2 different TVs and got the same result (HDTV and SDTV). I may try to mess with it some more, but I can't even read the font on either setting so it's hard to determine what it's set on.
Not happy with XFX Tech support either. They never sent the part out on Friday of last week so they are sending it out this comming Monday (1 week later).
If if have to go thur this again, the darn card is going back. Their tech support has alot to be desired.

What do you have set in the NVidia control panel? The TV-Out settings (detailed and otherwise) are in the control panel.

tv out, autodetect. I even tried to use the composite and s-video settings and nothing helped or changed.

Autodetect? That might be the issue right there. If it's not getting any ID signals back from the TV's (likely because TV's weren't meant to be an I/O device) then the NVidia driver is probably using default values for everything. That means a resolution as low as 640 x 480! Take it off autodetect and start messing with the details.

The only connection settings where autodetect was S-Video & composite video. After going thru every monitor format setup (PAL, NTSC and every country) I finally found the HD setup. Once I found this hidden little secret, my only choice was component video (which is what I have been searching for). And then everything was great. If the tech (who should have known this) would have told me to scroll up to the top where the selections for HDTV formats using component video were, then this would have been solved a while back.
The toughest issue is that I could not read anything on the TV when using the NTSC (USA) setting nor change the resolution under that format.
Thanks for the help; I am glad that I gave it another shot. And let me just say, Call of Duty looks sweet in Hi-Def.
