Sup
First and foremost let me just say, Im a noob at this stuff.
I have a old ass hagard computer. It's a BIOSTAR. Built like 4-5 yrs ago by some guy who recently died. SUCKS. Anyway. Here's the prob.
It doesnt start. I think its the power supply. I tried everything like checking the power cord, that its connected to a good ac outlet trying a diff surge protector. I opened up the case. And when i plug it in to the outlet and hit the button nothign happens. The fan doesnt spin or anything. So what's wrong with it? The button is broken? or could it be that i need a new power (thing) forgot the name? And if a do need a new power thing, how much do they go for, and if possible, can I install one myself? (Low on $$$$) Really need to fix this system cuz I had some files on it that I need for schoool. (I know I know i should've backed them up). I'd appreaciate some feedback to this. THANKS.(Email me @ Tsipouro12[AT]aol.com Plz) THANKS GUYS :D

Just a quick word of warning.
I would suggest you DON'T post your e-mail addy openly in any forum like that, as you leave yourself wide open to mail abuse from passing visitors.

As you said it could be any of the things you stated, but first thing to check is that the power button connectors are connected properly.

Remove them from the board and re-connect them again to check this out. If you are not sure as to which cables they are just follow them from the button to the board.

In the UK the plug that fits into the wall (faceplate) outlet has a fuse in it. Does your country have this facillty? If so change this fuse.

If the above fails, can you get your hands on a spare PSU (power supply unit) to check things out? If so swap them over to see what happens.
