O there probley will be, the GTA series is quite popular, a real cash cow. Anyways, about graphix being out of this world, its not gonna be any better than PC games. Just look at FEAR and you see top of the line graphix.
Thanks for replying
I think the graphics will still be great though on the Xbox 360 as you would have to have one hell of a graphics card in a computer to compete with the Xbox 360 graphics.
I do hope very much they release a new Gta as ive got every Gta they had released on ps2.
Im a GTA fan :)
Do you know what the next Gta game will be called or what city/country its based in?
Ive heard rumers that the next ones set in La? But i dont believe them.

I have no idea about what it is gonna be called. I simply made an observation using stats such as the popularity of the frachise, opposition from angry mothers, etc.
BTW, my x800GT modded to x800XT pwns. PWNS!!!!! Complete graphix (except for FEAR...that game is a beast.....), full screen AA and x16 AF all at 1280*1030 without hitches.
Also, the graphix quality will depend alot on how talented the artists are in their work. I myself to 3d modeling and animation and I can tell you that making decent stuff is hard. But when you get is right, OMG LOOKS SO FREAKING NICE!!!! What is even harder is making it withing the constraints of the game hardware. You can make something really nice looking, but you will need it to render fluently. The xbox360 is no render farm....

The XBox 360 will have some amazing graphical power, but it can't compete with PC's in the long run. By this time next year, the best PC vid cards will have once again out-stripped the XBox 360. Granted consoles are cheaper, but I still prefer PC's. They have more games that I like.

I doubt it, until the PS3 comes out.
GTA has traditionally been a PlayStation series. It may get ported to the 360, but I'm not sure.

Yet another reason I like gaming on PC's. No need to have multiple consoles to play all the games I like. Not to mention all the cords and clutter that multiple consoles would give you.
Even so, it seems to me that the game developers and console manufacturers could learn a thing or two about portability. It really upsets gamers when they have to hold off on buying a new console just because they have a game they want to play and don't know which console will support it! I've seen many holiday sales, and sales in general, get passed up for this very reason. I understand Sony and M$ wanting to make sure that their console does well (better than the competition) but a little cooperation would help the gaming industry.
I mean, really, the gaming industry is now bigger than the movie industry! But at least the movie industry doesn't have tons of specific formats anymore. There's just VHS and DVD, which are universal for the most part. It makes things easier and helps the industry as a whole to do better. I wouldn't mind it if say Sony required an agreement that said the new GTA game should appear first on the PS3, and then could be ported to XBox 360 after 6-9 months. But these contracts that limit games to a single console really need to stop! To me, they all look like a bunch of whiny babies, and it only ends up frustrating the gamers in the end. And the gamers are the ones who buy into it all! For crying out loud, what's wrong with good customer support? The gamers are the ones with the buying power. Why not help them out?
End of rant. This is just something that really bugs me about the gaming industry. They all need to grow up...

I haven't been into any consoles since I started getting into PC's. I agree with Saph in the long run you just can't beat PC's. Besides why would I spend $315-$450 on a console that basically does nothing but play games? I have a PS2, well my kids have a PS2, and neither of us play it very often anymore.
Yeah I like to see the look on my wifes face when I try to justify spending the $400 I just spent on a core upgrade for something that's just for games.
My youngest(12) wants an Xbox 360 and a laptop for Xmas. Yeah right whatever! She isn't getting either but she would be more likely to get the laptop, at least she could do her homework on the laptop. ;)

One thing that I hate about the x360 is the whole "basic" and "premium" packaging. They say that the x360 will function without the HD as well as with. WRONG!!! You can't save games without it. You also can't play original xbox games without it because the emulation software is on the HD! An annoying artical was in my local paper a week ago about the x360. The writer was praising it as a revolution in gaming. How it was so much more fun than the previous xbox. How it was so much better than a computer! It can display in high definition! The controller is wireless! Such a revolution!
Well this is what I have to say: High def? pah, us computer types have had that for years. Wireless controllers? The Gcube has and amazing wireless controller. More fun than previous generation? Wow, what an idiotic writer, its the games, not the console that makes it fun. And finally, better than a computer? Hahahaha! Computers are faster, more useful, more upgradable, and are infinetly more customizable. Computers just own PCs. For instance, like Saph said, the games for consoles arn't always for the same console. On a computer you can play any game (Apple computers are the exception to this...), heck you can even play the console games with an emulator!
Finally, there is the whole price of console vs price of computer. Well, once you have bought all the consoles so that you can play many different games, bought that highdef TV, and bought the extra controllers and payed for the online service, which is cheaper? The computer or the console?

I didn't want to turn this thread into a bashing of the XBox 360 and all consoles. That's just counter-productive. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
For instance, if you only have the money/opportunity for one console and you rely on Xmas and B-day gifts to get your games (like most younger teens without a job) then a console makes much more sense than a gaming computer. Also, if you know jack-squat about hardware and CPU architectures and don't really want to learn it all (you just want to play games) then a console makes much more sense again! With a few exceptions, consoles are extremely easy to use. Just plug it in, turn it on, and play a game! Granted the latest consoles are getting a bit more complicated in how they work, but it's well within the progressive learning curve of successive generations of console players. Not only that, but ever since the PS2 and XBox, consoles have been much closer to the raw gaming performance of PC's. (And PC gaming hardware has been getting relatively cheaper, too.) Regardless of the fact that you need a big-screen TV to really enjoy the latest consoles, they are quite impressive in what they can do for the price they cost and the ease of use they provide. Besides, if you look at the audience that buys consoles, how can they not have a big-screen TV? If you're really into the whole multimedia experience, then you've got 2 or more consoles, a big-screen or HD TV, a DVD player, a VHS player, and stacks of movies all over the place! It all depends on your focus for entertainment.
I prefer to rely on my PC for entertainment. So I've got a big monitor, gaming-worthy hardware (or at least I will once again after my upcoming upgrade), lots of hard drives for storing movies/music/games, and a really high-speed internet connection! That's my form of entertainment. But of course, not everyone feels that way. A lot of people always ask me how I can watch movies on such a tiny screen! :p Silly people!

O i'm not bashing consoles, they are fun things. What I am bashing are stupid writers that claim things such as "x360 is a revolution!" or the premium package isn't needed" (well it is if you want to save games or play original xbox games)
A lot of people always ask me how I can watch movies on such a tiny screen! Silly people! Hehehe, well my screen is alot higher res than any tv that i've seen... and if i really want to have big, i just hook up the trusty old CRT projector. That beast is a pain to setup and move, but it looks fantastic!!!
