I have a three yr old Dell Dimension and upon bootup, it has begun shutting itself off after about 3 seconds. Then about 2 seconds later, it turns itself back on. It keeps cycling this way. Is this the PS or is it something else?
It did it about three months ago and mysteriously stopped until yesterday.

what series is that dell? you could start by updating the bios, chipset, and graphics. it sounds like the psu. give a little more information, like socket type, OS, (i assume xp), and probably a p4 right. let us know please

I have a Dimension 2350 with XP. I bought a new PS at Fry's to try out and it does the same thing my other two PS do. I don't get any voltage reading out of either the low or high sides. It won't run long enough to boot up so I'm out of luck with BIOS or anything else.
Does it sound like a short in the board somewhere?
