IF your talking about a Pentium 1 class chip (socket 7) I think that the pentium 233 chip runs on a 66MHz bus while a P2 233 processor might run on a 100 MHz bus. But with the processor speed being less than 300 or so the P2 may as well run on a 66 MHz bus. If that is the case then the only difference that I am currently aware of is the fact that a p2 is a slot 1 processor and the p1 is a socket 7. Hope that helps a little.

Pentium II (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/pentiumii/compinf.htm)

I can't find info on the 233MMX, you'll have to go to and look it up through the model number stamped on the bottom of the CPU.

The Pentium II 233 runs on the 66MHz system bus, and will not run correctly on the 100MHz bus. L2 cache is onboard rather than integrated into the die. P-II 350MHz and above run on 100MHz system bus, and 100MHz RAM must be used.

Pentium MMX CPU's would run on 66MHz system bus, and would use 66MHz RAM, and supported cache was up to 256MB. The P-II cache was onboard, but not on the same die and could be up to 512MB.

If you had everything...Where would you put it?
