DVD

I'm thinking about buying an Acer or Creative Labs Ovation DVD-rom drive that does not come with a decoder board. Will my computer be able to handle the software decoding? Or, should I save the extra money and get a DVD drive that comes with a decoder board?

P2 400 MHz processor
128 MB SDRAM PC100

I would buy a DVD with a decoder board or purchase an ATI video card. Software decoders (most of them IMHO) are not know for great picture quality or Frame rates.
