Hey all,

My book just got mentioned on Slashdot: http://www.slashdot.org

Most of the replies are nasty though. Oh well. ;)

Congratulations! :)

Most of those nasty ones seem to be along the lines of "Not Another TCP/IP book" without even bothering to check it out. Hardly worthwhile opinions. :p

Awesome Charles. And I agree with Pave on the reviews. The Slashdot review was very good. It said your book was knocking the others of the shelf.

I personally really like your writing style and the way you explain things. :)

Anything new in the works? Not that you need to do anything new, you have been very busy in the two years that I have been around.

Hehe...the reviews were just as pave and jlr pointed out, without form or substance! ;) Folks who have actually been introduced to your writing style are immediate converts...The negatives I can guarantee you had never bothered to crack the cover...

Seems like the negative reviews are from people who have read one style of book and don't want to change.
Or they have already gone down the networking road, understand TCP/IP and are wondering why anyone doesn't just download all the white papers.
I just hope these idiots aren't teachers -I think they miss the point of this book being not just a reference, but a way of actually learning this stuff.
I like the style - anyone who thinks you can just throw some facts at a student and expect them to digest it is a fool.
Teaching isn't about talking at your own level, it's being able to talk to a novice at their own level without patronising them, and making the material as interesting as possible and easy to digest. This book achieves that, and anyone who thinks otherwise could always try writing their own :D
