I want to build a new PC. I'll be transferring over most of my current parts. I really just need a case, power supply, motherboard, processor, video card & RAM.

I'll be using the PC for the internet, burning CDs & DVDs & playing games using MAME. I will need a video card w/S-Video out so I can hook it up to my TV.

I'd like at least a 2.4ghz processor (or AMD equivalent) & at least 1GB of RAM. I'm looking to build a budget PC here. The more under $500 the better.

I'd like to buy my parts from new egg since I have always had good experiences w/them. I was looking at bare bones systems, but have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for there.

Welcome to the PC Guide Forums!! :D

I prefer to pick out my parts individually, no matter what the budget. That's the best way to get high quality parts, especially when it comes to the mobo and PSU - the two most important components for any computer. For ideas on what to get, check out my sticky (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39018).

For that budget, you're definitely looking at a Celeron D or Sempron64 system. Should be no problem to get that under $500 for just those parts. The only part not listed on my sticky is the case, but those are very user-specific so I left them out. ;) Do you have a preference for Intel or AMD?
