Welcome to the PC Guide Forums!! :D

Woah, that's a tight budget! What parts do you need? What parts do you have? Do you need to build just the box? I hope you have most of a system already put together, because there's no way you can build a gaming system with just $300. Check over my sticky (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39018) for ideas, but as you can see $300 will be gone after just a CPU, mobo, and RAM - and that's if you go for a budget CPU like a Sempron64.

yea, i thought so... i didnt think i would get one under 300, but who knows! lol....... no i am starting from scratch, i just want a minumim gaming pc, that can play the popular games... I looked on ebay for a barebone pc, i found one 450w, 64biit motherboard, 2.6 ghz, neon for 150, but that leaves like 150 for the OS, hardrive, memory.... graphics card..

$300 is a good start, though. You should probably save that up if you want to build a full gaming system. Or you could perhaps upgrade something you have? There's not a lot of older hardware that could handle modern games like BF2 and HL2, but if you can find a reasonable deal on a P4 2 GHz or faster, or maybe an AthlonXP or Sempron at 2000+ rating or higher, you'd have something there.

The only problem is that gaming is so stressful on computer hardware that you'd need high quality parts across the board. And that's not easy to do on EBay if you don't know what you're looking for...
