Hi
I have a SONY laptop PCG-K33.
The thing I don't like is that the video memory is shared. I can make the video memory up to 128 mb, but it's terrible compared to by radeon 7000 64mb card on my desktop. Do you think I could upgrade the laptop with a new motherboard and a new video card or would that be impossible?

THanks

It may be possible but not recommended. You can't swap out parts like in a desktop. When a company designs their laptop system everything must fit exactly in a tight little spot. So it makes it very hard to find parts that are compatible. Your best bet would be to contact Sony and ask them.

I do long for the day when it becomes practical to build your own laptop. It's getting better but the choices are still very limited. :(
