So, I got a stick of CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145505) and it is in my computer and all is well, so this is a stupid question. Is this sort of RAM the kind that you need to run in pairs? The fact that is is working tells me that the answer is "no" but I have no idea what the standards are.

Thanks

You don't need to run DDR/DDR2 RAM in pairs. It works perfectly fine with an odd number of sticks. However, if your system is dual-channel capable, you'd want to run DDR/DDR2 RAM in pairs for improved performance. Again, not necessary, but it boosts performance in dual-channel mode.
