Is there a bios change that will allow a compaq rs1610 to boot up with the printer power turned on before boot? If it is on before booting, the monitor dispays the compaq logo and never passes powerup. The key board will not get you into setup at this time either.

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

That would be quite irritating! :( I've an HP all-in-one that is setup to receive faxes even when the computer is turned off. It would be a pain if I had to turn it off just to boot up the computer each time...

Have you tried the Compaq site to see if this is a known issue?

I take it that it works fine if you do not have it powered up until after the computer is up and running?

Is this a new issue?

Installed the machine for a neighbor yesterday. The printer was existing hardware. Looked all thru the FAQ section. Installed updates to all in one, still same result. Haven't tried the phone support yet. Is a first for me.
