I am looking at upgrading my video card, kinda like the
Voodoo 4 4500 32 mb pci, but am open to others suggestions
and recomendation. Is the Voodoo 5 5500 64 mb pci really
worth the additional money ?
Thanks to every one here for all the great help in the past

To get the most out of the Voodoo 5 you need at least a PIII based system.
If you want to spend that kind of money (Voodoo5) look at the Geforce cards.
If you are a Big gamer that is.
The geforce will out perform the voodoo on the newest software.
Especially the DirectX based games

Hi Brian,
From what I have read around here, Rick is right if you are a serious gamer. Apparently, the Geforce will outperform the Voodoo 5. And, as Rick pointed out, the Voodoo requires at least a Pentium 3 to get the most out of it.
I am a proud owner of the Voodoo 4 4500 PCI 32meg with a built-in 166mhz processor. I can personally vouch for its superior 2D capability. I haven't put it through its paces as far as gaming goes, but otherwise, I am very happy with it.
If you just require a good video board for normal computer usage, and don't require fast gaming performance, the Voodoo 4500 should work nicely for you. As I mentioned, I am not into heavy gaming, but the graphics that I have witnessed with desktop publishing, etc. are seriously fine.
Cheers,
Big Blue 66
