Upgraded to new board with old cpu and memory. Board is old style Intel to use existing rambus memory. All drives are old.
At first boot the system comes up to Win2000 screen and asks for password. No response to keyboard. Keyboard works before Win screen to get into setup.
If I shut it down by turning of the case switch and try again I get the same result. After several times of this I get one long beep from the mobo and nothing on screen. This seems like a problem with the memory. Can it get hot and then stop the system? Could the cpu be heating up?
Any assistance appreciated.
