I was looking for some more sd ram and when i was looking at a 512 mb ram that i was considering buying i noticed it said 133mhz i thought mhz was to do with your processor. So i was wondering if i were to buy this ram would it add another 133mhz to my processors mhz?
thanks

No, RAM speed relates to how fast it can locate and move information in the dim.

Ok thanks
Just one more question if i had one ram card in my pc thats 133mhz would that mean any extra ram card i would put in would also have to be 133mhz or can each be different

Keep them the same Mhz. If I remember right the key thing is to match the RAM Mhz speed to your processors FSB speed. If you add memory that is faster than your processor, you will not be able to make use of it as your processor can only swap data into RAM at its speed, not the RAM's speed.

There are tons of implications when it comes to upgrading RAM. In fact, depending on your specific computer, a RAM upgrade can either be the easiest upgrade to perform or the most problematic. Give us some more specs about your computer and we can help you from there.

Graphics Card ATi Radeon 9200 SE atlantis 128Mb
Is there anything else you would need to know to help me?

Yep, that was what we needed. . .let see. . .512RAM max. . .needs pc133 RAM. So, here you go- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820136009
You have 256 in there, and the MOBO only goes up to 512, so add one of these and you will be maxed out. Note- while there are cheaper 256 PC133 dims out there, this is the cheapest made by a highly reputable manufacturer, I'd pay the extra for the better RAM.

Thanks ALOT Hockey Man And you were all a great help!
And BTW thats extremely cheap for ram to compare it to how much its sold foe where i live LOL
Thanks again

Max is 512MB, huh? Odd, I thought that chipset went up to 512MB per DIMM. But best not to argue with the mobo specs.
Get another 256MB stick of PC133 (133MHz). If you're going to buy it from a store and not online, at least try to get name brand RAM. Oh, and make sure the RAM is double-sided (RAM chips on both sides of the module). It most likely will be for SDRAM, but just make sure before you plunk down the cash.

I was thinking it was 512 per dimm too So it isnt then no?
Oh and thanks again everyone for the advice :D
