Im asking this question for a friend.
He has an advent computer that is built in such a way that its not a tower monitor and speakers its all of them in one.Its literaly a 20" screen with a stand and a speaker on each side of the screen with the cpu built into the screen. There is no box unit to it it just has the cpu with dvd drive usb ports mother board etc ALL inside this stand and screen. As you can guess one VERY big problem is that you cant open it.But his main problem is that when he is playing games on it or on it for longer than a 2hour period the whole pc shuts down with no warning.I on the other hand just have a monitor a tower speakers etc and i could stay on the computer all day with no problems.

Does anyone here know what is wrong with his pc?
Is it the design of the pc?
Or is it something else?

It could be a heat issue. Can you check your CPU temp in your BIOS?

Ya, definatly a heat issue, does ur friend's computer have any fans besides the ones on the vid card or the cpu?

You see thats the thing he doesnt know because it cant be opened and checked.
He called engineers from the Advent company out to his house to take a look and they are apparently stumped to what the problem is.I would have thought it was a problem with overheating myself i cant understand how they would expect to fit all that hardware into that unit and expect it to work properly

Like hockey man suggested, check the temperatures in BIOS.

Also, what is the computer model number?

But i remember him saying when he checked his pc's temperature it was in the 60's or something

Ok the computer is the Advent T1
And he has just told me now the hottest his computer ever was is 85 C
Is that normal? Doesnt sound normal
Does anyone have any idea what exactly is wrong and what needs to be done?

If 85 C is the max CPU(processor) temperature, and 60+ C is normal, then there's definitely an overheating problem. And it's amazing that the system still works.

If the ambient temperature in the room is 75 F or less, and the system located in an area where all vents are clear, then RMA the system if it's still under warranty.

RMA means to replace the system.

Return
Merchandise
Authorization

ok lol
he already tried to get it replaced or refunded i cant remember but he was told that he was only under 28day warranty which is ridiculous on a machine!!
you could understand that on a mp3 player or usb hub or something but a PC itself
and he told me when he bought it he was told he has a two year warranty
is that even legal?
