The max number of PCs on a peer to peer setup is 10. How many PCs are you connecting in your LAN?

I am using WORKGROUP
I have 25 PCs connected by 2 switches
But all other PCs (including PC1) can access PC3 (for example), PC3 has not limit the number of connections to it!

Well the Max number of connections is based on the OS not the peer-to-peer connection. Non server OS is going to be 10.

As I know, the max number of connections in peer-to-peer is upto 254.
Can any settings or services in winxp cause the limitation?
In PC1 I don't have any settings (in network connections\properties\...\IP filter) limtting the number of connections.

I think you’re confused. A Peer-to-Peer is not a rule, it is a description. A Peer-to-Peer network simply means there is not centralized management. A good rule of thumb is peer-to-peers start to become too burdensome to operate after 10-15 users. That is because in a business, you normally want security, security on a p2p is handled by each computer, in MS terms each PC is its own Local Security Database. In order to get around adding each user of the network to each computer you have to allow everyone, usually through the guest account and this is a big security hole waiting to be exploited.
Your problem is the Operating System.

XP Home I is 5, XP Pro is 10 connections

Thanks Variable.
I have a DSL router to share internet.
In PC1 I have enabled the Guest account and removed the password, I also added "Everyone" in the shared resource and gave it "Full control".
Is there any way to have all PCs can access each other in WORKGROUP without managing by server (join the DOMAIN)?

Yes, but only 10 at once for XP pro or 5 for XP home. XP Home and XP Pro do files sharing differently... But the problem you described is not one of connectivity, it's one of numbers of connections.
You realize what your describing is a terrible way of doing business from a security perspective. Your wide open. I hope all your employees like your company ALOT.

How about that same error message on a lan that consists of one desktop and between one and three laptops. The desktop is always a wired connection to the router; the laptops are usually connected wireless, but use a wired connection when I expect to want to transfer several large files.
At the moment there are only TWO computers on the network -- the desktop and ONE laptop which is on a wired connection. There are NO computers on the wireless side of the lan (I checked).
The laptop can connect to the desktop and can pull files from the desktop.
BUT the desktop cannot see the laptop. In fact, the desktop cannot even see itself on the network. Any attempt to even see the network results in the "No more connections...." error message.

Please start your own thread about your problem, providing as many specifics as you can, including the OS on each machine, what the network setup is, etc...
