I'm trying to fix my mother in law's computer...here's the issue. Everything was working fine (WIN 98, ver 4.10) when she installed NIS 2005. Not sure what she did next, but she told me she downloaded a program that Symantec told her to use to uninstall the old program and assist in installing the new version. I have no other details, but now when you turn the computer on it starts a normal boot process, then hangs with the following message:
" While initializing device SymTDI: Write protect error. You need to restart your computer."
I can reboot it in the safe mode with no issues, but don't know where to go from there. Any tips? Thanks.
It' a Compaq, and I think Norton is the only A/V program loaded.
