Hi Everyone,
Im building a new pc idealy for games and other uses but i want to be able to upgrade it when the higher end processers come down in price.
Ill be using the following:

Amd 64 3000+ socket 939 - $218 AU
Asus A8V-MX - $120 AU
512MB BBR400 PC3200 - $70 AU
GAINWARD GF6800LE AGP GPU - $300 AU
80GB 7200RPM HDD - $75 AU

Can you suggest anything i could change to ensure future upgradability or better hardware for a similar price?

Thanks for your time.

A reply or just your thoughts would be greatly appreciated

What's your budget, and where are you getting these prices? If you're getting these from an Aussie website, then we can post links here to better hardware.

Short thoughts from me: make sure you get the Venice version of any Socket 939 A64 you get; bad mobo, get one with a modern chipset like the NForce4 Ultra; don't play games on less than 1GB of dual-channel DDR400 RAM; poor vid card choice, look for a GeForce 6800 GS or Radeon X800 GTO in that price range; here in the US, 160GB SATA hard drives are only $10 more than 80GB SATA hard drives, so think about more storage space.

Those are my immediate thoughts...
