Hi,
Ok, so i recently got an eVGA 6600GT AGP for christmas. Today I installed a Zalman VF700-Cu Heatsink and fan to replace the stock one on the card. But now my system wont boot up with it hooked up. But it does work when I put my old card, an FX5200 back in. On the bootup screen it says the past attempts failed at a certain step, PnP2.
Now I have no idea what went wrong and am afraid I might have ruined my card. It was working fine before I did anything to it. So could someone please give me some help? Thanks

Are you getting any beeps when you boot with the 6600GT in?

Is the new cooler touching anything on the 6600 GT other than the GPU, RAM chips, and mounting points? Was there a fan on the old cooler? If so, is there a fan on the new cooler connected to that header?

Everything seems to work with the 6600 in, everything turns on, all the fans are going, the hard drive vibrates, but nothing comes on the screen. There are no beeps though.
When I boot with the 5200 there is a beep right away then the error message comes up telling about why it didnt boot the last time.

no the new one wasnt touching anything else. there was a fan on the old one, but i didnt have the new one connected to the same header. the thing is i took the new cooler off and put the stock one back on and it still isnt working.

Mmm. . .Saphalline, is it possible that he chipped the GPU?

Without looking at the vid card itself, it's possible any number of things happened. It's not looking good at this point. If it's not working with the stock cooler back on, I'd say there's a good chance it got fried by static or a short. No beep is bad.
See if you can return that vid card and get it replaced.

Well the warranty doesn't cover any damage done wile installing or modifying the card by anyone but 'professionals' so doesn't look like I can return it. So can you guys think of anything I could try to get it working? If not then I guess I'm screwed and have to save up my money for another.

Did you read this (http://www.zalman.co.kr/product/cooler/VF700_6600GT_eng.html)? It concernes AGP versions of the GeForce 6600 GT with that particular Zalman VGA cooler unit.
Have you tried that vid card in another system? I just don't know what could have gone wrong.
