Hi
I have a sony PCG-K33
The specifications say So-DIMM PC2100.
Originally it had two 256 sticks
I updated with two SO-DIMM 512 sticks.
However, I just realized that the two original 256 sticks were SDRAM PC2700.
Is that possible? was that just a mislabel?
If it is possible, does PC2700 work better?
thanks

PC2700 would work faster. I'm not sure if the performance is much greater though. Prolly is.

Depends on the specs of that system (I assume a laptop?). PC2100 may well be the max speed that the chipset and/or CPU FSB can take advantage of. But perhaps the manufacturer plunked in PC2700 RAM because it was cheaper or more plentiful at the time the system was built.

Without knowing more about the system, there's no way to tell if PC2100 or PC2700 would be better.
