Okay, I started up Windows Me and it said "Explorer.exe has a problem, reinstall windows." How would I do this? I can't do anything in Me, I tried booting into safe mode, same error.

EDIT: My Millennium CD is an upgrade, therefore, not bootable. :o

Might be worth a shot...

If you have your Me or Win98 Startup floppy you might want to try getting to the A: and try scanreg /restore (yes, there is a space between the g and /)...

Oh. BTW, I don't have a floppy drive.

If you have Nero or similar then:

Unzip the WinME image file under Non-Windows Based Image Files W/ImageApp (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm) and use it for the floppy emulation when making a bootable CD. Drag the Win98 folder (or the full contents of the WinME CD) into the compilation area.

Burn the "iso" and you should then have a bootable CD with the WinMe files available at whichever Drive Letter is specified for the CD at boot up. The A prompt on the CD will refer to the floppy image.

Too late now...thanks for your help. I do have Nero.

I wanted to get rid of XP MCE because of support issues, so I formatted and put XP in it. Now I had a "Unknown OS on Drive C" choice, (instead of WIndows Me) at the boot laoder. Tried to go into there, nothing loaded. Forget it. I can manage with 2000 pro and XP pro. Thanks though.
