I recently had the misfortune of my motherboard dying, I have fitted a new mobo (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe) but now have the problem of SATA drivers. My install of windows on one of my SATA drives will not boot and I am assuming this is because it doesn't have the new SATA drivers. I have installed a clean install of XP on a spare drive and have access to my main drives (orginal windows installation), I am now hoping someone knows how I can access my old install of XP and get it to boot with the new SATA drivers.

Any ideas would be most appreciated

Thanks

Andy

andyh69uk WELCOME to PCGUIDE.

You have the same board as I have and the SATA drivers are built in to it. My set up is OS on the SATA drive with a second IDE drive for storage etc.

Have you gone into the BIOS to check to see if the SATA drivee is set for booting. It should show under BOOT and point to REMOVABLE as first boot
