Suggestions for new game purchase?

I hope this is the right forum for this question: I have a $50 Best Buy Gift Certificate burning a hole in my pocket & want to get a new game for the computer I just put together. I want to test the limits of my new GeForce2MX vid card. I have been into games such as Blood and Duke Nukem (notice how old my last computer was?) & more recently Unreal. I haven't kept up too much in this category, so are there any suggestions for first person shooter-type games? I have played and still play Age of Empires I & II so I don't need any of those type games yet.

Ultima 9 ascension is a cool game if you like fantasy rpg's. Beware though you need a up to date system or you will have a beast of a time getting it to run. Mine met the mininmum requirements and I ended up with less hair because of it. I would also plug AoE 2 but you said you had that the expansion is nice though. I can't really comment on any others because I have been misering up my pennies for a new machine as I wait on the release of some titles this spring.

btw I do have a cable modem, 1 month now can't say enough good things about it!


another question has occured to be what is the difference between a tv tuner and a video out?
