My sister is having a problem with her pc. Recently she had a bad dose of spyware, trojans, viruses, thanks to this site we managed to fix all that by running various software to combat this. However, she is now on aol braodband and is having major issues with the internet. Her main problem is when she boots the pc and xp loads when the desktop appears straight away an icon comes into view bottom left that says limited connectivity. If she unplugs the modem and plugs it back in the icon changes and says she has a connection. The problem however, is not due to the modem, the line, the aol software. We know this because we have re-installed all drivers and aol software using a different disc, we have tested the line both by aol and by BT. We have run full trojan detecting software advised from this site, we have run avg and spybot and adaware. The pc is clean of viruses, trojans and spyware. I have tested the pc myself from my home using my equipment and still the same thing happens. If we are lucky enough to get on the internet we get disconnected after a while, the same icon appears a couple of network tv icons appear saying limited - no connectivity. Today my sister installed a clean xp pro on the pc. Unfortunately this did not solve the issue. However, I learnt that she partitioned the drive and didnt format completely. Could this be a nasty hidden virus or a windows driver issue. I would really appreciate some help with this. PLEASE UNDERSTAND- WE HAVE TESTED THE LINE. WE HAVE TESTED THE MODEM, WE HAVE TESTED THE WIRES WE HAVE TESTED THE ISDN LINE, IN ADDITION WE HAVE TESTED THE AOL SOFTWARE AND MODEM DRIVERS IT IS NOT ANY OF THESE THINGS. Appreciate any feedback :)
