New to this Board - this is great. I am not too knowledgeable but would appreciate answers to the following questions:

Relevant facts:

I have a Dell Dimension XPS R450 (Pentium II) with 128 MB Ram and STB nVIDIA TNT 16MB video card. I also have Plextor's Plexwriter 12/10/32 CDRW drive.

Questions:

1) Can you upgrade from PII to PIII or P4 at all or is it easier and cheaper to buy a new system?

2) Can I upgrade my video card to a card like nVIDIA GE FORCE ULTRA? Or will it not work on my system? If not, what would you suggest?

3) Does anyone know of decent CD backup freeware which will backup an entire hard drive on my CD writer?

Thanks for your time.

You might be able to install a new motherboard/CPU combo.

Do you have an AGP slot? If not, you'd need a PCI card. They're getting hard to find. Of course, if you upgrade the motherboard, you'd have the AGP slot.

Sorry, no. You might want to consider other backup options, though, such as a second hard drive.
