mqspms.exe??? What is It?????

mqspms.exe shows up in my task manager runnnig multiple instances. It
seems to be a resource hog at times. I have googled it with ZERO results.

Anyone Know what this file is???? Or even seen it???

Also, I can't stop it or delete it.

If you can't find any info on it, it is most likely a virus or other malware. And yeah a Google came up with nothing on it.

I suggest you download HijackThis (http://www.subratam.org/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=41) and do a scan, post the entire log here for one of the security experts look over. Don't have it fix anything as it will list both the good and bad, and can cause your system to not boot if the wrong things are removed.

Fist off, you need to move HJT too a permanet folder such as in your program files or on your desktop. Now, the pros here will be the ones to examine your log. I know a bit though, and from what I can see you do appear to have an infection. Please wait for Budfred or Classic to come and help you. They should be here sometime tonight or tomorrow.

You do indeed have an infection... Please put HJT in a permanent folder as was suggested... Then please run and Ewido scan to fix what it can find:

Please download, install, and update the NEW free version of Ewido trojan scanner (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/):

When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.

After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")

Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run.

Check "Perform action with all infections".

When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again.


Then open and HJT scan and put checks by any of these that remain:

Close all open windows except HJT and press Fix checked...

Find and delete these files/folders... You will probably need to set Windows to show all hidden files to see them...

In Windows XP, on the taskbar, click Start > My Computer.
In Windows Me/2000/XP, on the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
On the View tab, uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
In Windows Me/2000/XP, uncheck Hide protected operating system files. Then, under the "Hidden files" folder, click Show hidden files and folders.
If you see a warning message, click Yes.
Click Apply.
Click OK.

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log, the Ewido log and a report on how things are going...
