Hey guys i was always on a non-routed pc and recently got a router and found i cant do alot of the things i used to. Specifically hosting games in Madden 06 or any game for that matter. For Madden i was given a list of ports and told i had to open those ports. I was also told this is a simple task. I have no idea what it means to "OPEN PORTS". The routers manual is too minimal its a DYNEX router. If you've heard of it, you shop at best buy alot. Any help would be appreciated.

You're going to have to configure your machine to use a static, private IP address through the Network Connection settings. Then you'll be able to forward specific ports to that machine from your router. This allows the incoming network traffic that's headed for the Madden host, to be routed to the machine that is running it. Check out these links:
