so im just after dealing with a virus which i had to wipe the hard drive and then the guy at the shop re configured it. Ever since it came back its never performed as well as it did before, the internet is much slower than it was and most times when i play songs there is slight "skipping" and reapeating, like a broken down record. It just seems like the computer is overloaded in the brain. Anyway so i clicked up my task manager and found that a process called "Sytem idle Process" has a CPU reading of 98 on most occasions. Is this the cause and what do i do?

System Idle Process is running whenever something else is not running... It is a way the computer describes taking a nap... It is not something to worry about...

As for what is wrong... The tech could have screwed up or removed some of your hardware... The tech could have installed software that iis slowing things down (either benign or malicious software)... You and the tech may have not totally cleaned the drive and you may still be infected... And so on...

the only thing i can think of is that he put norton anti virus on, but thats all i could notice when i got it back. im pretty sure i wiped the hard drive though. I used Killdisk. I also notice that it only when im on the internet that songs start to skip.

Norton will definitely bog down your system, it is a major resource hog... However, what I am referring to is that not all techs can be trusted not to mess with your hardware... Was this someone you have reason to trust?? If you are familiar with the workings of your computer, you may want to check inside to make sure it is all still there, especially the RAM... You can also check how much RAM you have in System Info...
