Hey everyone, I am currently building my first computer, which was going pretty smoothly until now. I have a K8N-E deluxe motherboard, which has AMIBIOS on it, and a Western Digital 250 GB SATA hard drive. My problem is getting my bios to recognize my hard drive. Bios recognized both my DVD-RW drive and my floppy, but not the SATA. I know from reading in other places that I am suppose to change a couple of options in BIOS to make the computer recognize the hard drive, but the examples I have read all concerned phoenix bios, which from what I can see in the examples is pretty different from ami. I would appreciate any help that yall could give me. Thanks

its a new harddrive right? maybe you could install it, and run your OS. If you do that, you can have an option to formatt. that might work

is there a sata/ide option that needs to be enabled int he bios? one has to start from square one on some of these questions, the sata/ide option should be pretty straightforwafd, if you get into raid it gets a little more complicated, also check the Wst Dig support site for sata install

Check the mobo manual. Unless it was really really poorly written, the answer is most likely in there.
