-Several days ago i updated several of the programs (Access Connections, Presentation Director, and a couple other) and Flashed the BIOS (moving from 3.04 to 3.19) on my IBM Thinkpad. Since then whenever I try to put the computer into suspend (sleep) mode or hibernate it freezes when coming out of it.

-Coming out of sleep mode i can get to the desktop, but it freezes there, whereas with hibernate it does not get past the loading screen with the white bar at the bottom.

-I've already spent several hours surfing the net and talking to tech support with no luck. I tried updating the embedded controller program, and all the software i installed. Unfortuantely you can apparently not roll back the BIOS on thinkpads and i can't find previous editions of any of the software i installed (although i highly suspect its a BIOS issue). IBM wants me to send my laptop in, but i need it and cannot be without it for 2 weeks.

-Any ideas/suggestions would be most helpful

See if doing a system restore to a date that precedes the software updates helps.

If nol luck, then the BIOS update may be the cause.

I tried running a system restore, unfortunately, no such luck.
