hello ^^;

help!! :( i been trying for 2 days to use iozone on 4 computers linked with a switch, and run it in clustered mode to test the preformance. i'm using windows xp OS on all 4, but most if not all info i found on the net teach pple "howto" using Unix @.@;

i can get it to run on one computer, but even after setting the ip addresses and host names in \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, and client_list, it only run iozone test on the computer i input the commands( only one harddisk is running busily). i get connection refused and connect fail if i type in the -+t command that's was suppose to test the network performance.

question, ^^; is iozone only for Unix OSes? anyone have info or tried it before can teach me? :(

please help... (;_;)/

Maybe this should be moved to the Linux section of the forums...

Oh ok, I though you had a Unix/Linux system in there because you said you were looking up Unix advice?

I read the documentation on the utility. Stupid question, but are you using -+t in conjunction with -+m <filename>? There's some fairly complex rules on getting the filename correct on the network, so that might be where things are going wrong.

Other than that, there's a questions email on the Iozone.org website. You might try that for specific questions on their utility.

yes, i'm using -+m with -+t ( i do read what they all do and means ^^; ) but it won't work with or without -+t... (;_\)

yep, i'm seeking help everywhere >.<; patient Mr Don Capps is helping me as much as possible. :)

i'm trying to see if there's anyone with the experience of running Iozone on Windows OS, it'll be much easier than to install Linux on all 4 computers. ( which i also won't know what to do ;<.< )

problem solved! it's the cygwin1.dll outdated, that's why can't work :(

now i just have to find out what is -+t, network performance test, is.

An outdated DLL? That's odd. What is the purpose of that particular DLL?

cygwin1.dll is used to act as a Linux API emulation layer providing substantial Linux API functionality.

sorry for taking so long to reply, din check it after problem solved ^^;;;
