need help with compaq deskpro EN series....

i recently got an old/refurbushed compaq deskpro EN series and was having some problems with it:
when i turn it on, it displays the whit/red screen that reads "compaq"
and then it sits on the screen, but if i press enter it takes me to a screen that reads "65536 KB OK".."Compaq Deskpro EN Series: F10 = setuop"
but from therre i can't get it to do anything?????
any ideas???

Likely the HDD has gone bad from personal experience with that Compaq model.

If the hard drive is bad, the only thing that you can do is replace it. Has it been making any lound or unusal sounds lately?

If it has a floppy drive, you might want to try the harddrive diagnostics...downloaded from the harddrive manufacturer's website. These are self-booting and avoid accessing the harddrive except to perform the diagnostics...
