Hello Guys,

I have a PC, it is starting automatically when i switch the main plug to the AC outlet. It does not need to be switch on to PC to start booting. The problem im facing now is that awhile ago there was a blackout in our area and then suddenly the power came.

Since it is starting automatically, the power runs directly to the pc, a sound (puf!)came after that and my PC won't start. I hope its a fuse only and didn't reach to the power supply or my motherboard.

How can i change this setup? I don't want to start it automatically.

Please help.

Sorry, but get typing. Start typing a lot about your system, be very specific about your power supply, since that is where everyone will start. Puf's are not good.

there is a fuse in the power supply. it is not "user replaceable" meaning it is not recommend a typical end user open the supply and replace it. There are DANGEROUS voltages stored inside even when not plugged it. That may not even be a problem anyhow. The best thing to do would be to just go out and buy a decent little power supply for $30-$50. Hopefully the mobo isn't fried as well.

Hi jcnoernberg, .

i replace already my power supply. it seems that it is fried. i saw the fuse with black smoke inside. anyway, i got it replaced, it pass the POST scenario and after awhile there was a cutoff in the system. That is around 5 minutes of using. Then i went to turn it on, and DOES NOT WORK. i was looking at the fan of processor, it did make a turn but stop.

I let it cool for 30 minutes hoping that it would never happen but when i start it again, after few minutes it was cutoff the system. Its like the PC is switch off the main outlet. What could be the problem on this?

I went to the PC shop and had advise me to have a "burn-in" test. How could they make a burn-in test when the system is cutting off. I suspect the power supply, but it is brand new.

Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks..
