Slow computer--HJT log

Hello!
This Celeron 1Ghz, 768 RAM, lots of free space, has been running really slowly for a few months. I finally lost my patience with it.
Adaware found only one critical object. TrendMicro Housecall found no problems. TrendMicro Internet Security is installed and running. Ewido found a slew of tracking cookies. The computer is slight faster after removing them, but still very slow. It was suggested that I post a Hijack This log, which follows.

Your log looks clean... Have you cleaned out temp folders and defragged lately?? If not, those would be next steps...

If you are still having problems, you can run some deeper scans...

It might also be caused by a corrupt registry or system files. As a last resort you can reinstall Windows.

Simply reinstalling Windows can actually make things worse, especially since XP has a tendency to install itself a second time on the same computer...

If you want to try to clean Windows up, try this:

Please go to Start -> Run -> cmd and press Enter. At the command prompt type sfc /scannow, making sure to put a space between the "c" and the slash, and then press Enter. This will run the System File Checker. Follow the prompts, and insert your Windows installation CD if requested. Then please restart your computer.

Thanks Budfred, I'll try that tonight when I get a chance. The drive was very badly fragmented, and after defragging it, the speed is somewhat better, but still a bit sluggish.
