is this CPU HERE (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=513326) good for todays games such as
: san andreas,
civilazation 4,
need for speed most wanted,
warcraft 3,
halo,
americas army, stuff like that
and i will need more then usual for san andreas because i mod it and the files are larger and more demanding on the CPU to load.

Are you building new? Or are you upgrading? If you are building new, then a Athlon XP is a waste. It is the old socket- socket A. If you are building, go Socket 939 like this AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103537) for $160. Then get a nForce 4 SLI or Ultra MOBO. If you are upgrading, what MOBO do you currently have?

This is what I found on it: Socket A for Athlon XP/ Athlon/ Duron up to 2.4GHz+ Thoroughbred core CPU ready.
So a 3000+ would not work. Here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104210) is a AMD Sempron 2400+ Thoroughbred for $90. See what Saphalline thinks.
