I get this error blue screen of death after I try and boot from the windows XP Pro. CD. Tells me to run check dsk...well I cannot get to the windows screen to run the application.

I was using the install CD because when booting I get the error message the Windows Sys 32 file config sys is corrupt or missing.

How can I get past the blue screen so I can boot from the Windows CD?

Silly question first. Are you sure it's booting from the CD not your hard drive? Have you set the BIOS to boot from a CD before a HD? It seems very odd if booting from a CD you get a BSOD as there should be no way of corrupting the files on the CD, other than major scratches and the like. If the CD is OK and you are booting from it, I suspect there must be a hardware problem causing the BSOD, bad RAM or something? It may be worth going through Sylvanders diagnostic flowchart at http://www.erniek.eclipse.co.uk/downloads/SylvanderDiagnosticCharts.zip
