I just put a new dvd burner in my pc ,i had a dvd player in there but i wanted to burn movies.
Now when i put it in my player does not work so i put the new burner as the master and the other as a slave, and it still does not work. Then i reversed it and nothing happened. All it does is just sit there when i put a movie in .But the burner works if i put a movie in.I just dont know what else to do can someone help me please.

Does the DVD player recognize other media types, like CD's?
Does the DVD player have problems recognizing commercial DVD movies, or just burned DVD movies?
Does the DVD player recognize DVD movies if it's installed by itself on the IDE 2 channel, or as Slave on the IDE 1 channel??

well i tryed a cd in both dvd players and it worked
then i tryed a dvd movie in both and it does not work

I went to properties
in the new dvd burner and it said it was on channel 1
then i went to the other and it said it was on 0 what does that mean HELP

im going nuts lol

When you say "both DVD players", do you mean the DVD player and DVD burner?
If so, then your 1st post said that the DVD burner plays DVD movies.
And now you're saying that the DVD burner does not play DVD movies???

ok both dvd player and dvd burner does not play movies but they worked playing cds. sorry for makeing things tough on you
