Will I get any advantage from using ECC-ram types with my Abit kt7a board.??

Just get some decent SDRAM PC-100 or 133 modules and go.....you couldnt tell the difference if you had to......the only way to MAYBE get better performance is with the new DDR ram which is intended for the high end Athalon chips and offered on a scant few motherboards right now (not the Abit you mention).

Have you read this in the Guide: ECC (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/ram/err.htm)? If I was running a server for a business, I'd use ECC memory. But I suspect modern memory modules either work, or they don't. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks all for bothering ! The solution was given by the fact that the Abit kt7 simply doesn`t support EEC. If it had, I would have payed an extra.
