Hello Gang,
I am in the process of installing adsl broadband. At themoment I have prepaid dial up with $20 credit on it.
Question is:- Can I have both these systems installed installed at once and just change between one or the other by switching the phone line over or some other way?The adsl connects by usb.
Thanks,
Ray.

You can have a phone line connected to the dial up modem after the ADSL service is installed but you must have a filter installed on that connection to get rid of the DSL "hiss", just like each voice phone connection.

Thanks Prntrhd,
All I have to do is pull the phone cable out of the adsl modem and put it in the dial up modem.IS THAT IT?
THANKS, RAY.

No, you need two cables, one from the dial up modem to the phone socket on the ADSL filter, and another from the ADSL modem to the ADSL socket on the filter. The filter should be connected to the phone socket in the wall. You also need to set up two dial-up connections - use the Wizard if you are unsure. One has the dialup phone number, user name and password, the other will have the user name and password of your ADSL connection, and something like 8,35 in the phone number (this will be set by the Wizard). When you want to connect to the internet, callup a dial-up connection and select from the drop down menu which connection you want to use. All done without swapping wires.
