Hi all,

I need help for installation of modem for Win-XP. I'm using dual OS, Win 98 and Win XP, with 56k Intel Ambient V.90 56K Internal modem. My problem is that when I try to install modem for Win XP, windows remains unable to detect any modem, attached to my pc. While for win 98, there is nothing like that. For this reason, I can't install the modem. Will anyone help me, please?

Best Regards.

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to install drivers not only from original CD but from internet as well. But if the system isn't detecting the modem, how can I install it?

Does the modem show up in device manager either as an "unknown device", or with a yellow, or red exlamation mark by it?
Shut down, remove the modem, and reboot. Then shut down again, and replace the modem. See if it detected now.

You need to install the drivers first then install the modem, when I say install them modem.. I mean stick it in your computer. I would try a different PCI slot. If the computer doesn't detect it after you do this you can try the add/remove hardware to force it online. You should know that some old hardware devices simply will not work with XP. But, before I assume that I would try the above
