View Full Version : What is that safest way to clean your PC Hardware?

ie.: CPU Motherboard.
I have a good story when i was about 10 me and my uncle made a PC and then it was overheating we cleaned it with a vacuem then it never started.
Anyways i have that compressed can that removes dust should i use it?

First thing to do is make certain you are grounded. Use an Anti-Static wrist strap always if going inside the case. They cost only a couple of pounds (dollars) and are worth the cost. If not using a wrist strap ground yourself by touching something metal first.

yup Erniek was right ground yourself first. and the compressed can thing you have, you can use it. I usually used compressed air to clean my PC hardwares and i also used that compressed air on my laptop. when you apply compressed air it is better to distance the compressed air for about 12 inches away from your hardware.

Also keep the can upright, you want to spray gas, not liquid on the components to be cleaned.
Do not spin the cooling fans wildly as the bearings may not be able to take the extreme speed canned air can generate. Carefully brush the fans and blow the residue after.
