firefox crashing

I did a clean install of Winxp on my computer.

Then I installed firefox 1.5.0.1

While browsing the pcguide, firefox crashed and a messagebox appeared saying "Unable to initialize memory stream." I opened firefox again and tried other website (mozillazine.org) but while browsing, firefox crashed again with the same results.

I am currently using IE6 to post this problem
